We are very pleased to welcome two experts in their fields, working together to present an evening of Spanish delights.

Mario Moreno lives in Amersham and runs his own wine school and education business.  Mario describes himself as ‘Made in Madrid by parents from La Rioja and the Basque Country - and matured in the Canary Islands and overseas’.  He is currently qualified to WSET® (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 Award in Wines and he obtained a postgraduate degree in oenology from La Rioja University.  He is also a WSET® Certified Wine Educator and is currently undertaking the WSET® Level 4 Diploma in Wines.  Mario recently joined the team at Amersham’s Michelin-starred Artichoke restaurant as their sommelier.

Mark Dangerfield was born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire in 2001.  Having played the guitar since the age of eight and taking part in his local guitar ensemble, Mark began to show musical promise in secondary school, remaking pop songs and composing music to share with friends.  Later Mark began playing in the classical style after being inspired by recordings of Julian Bream, and his playing retains stylistic influences of flamenco, jazz and rock.  In 2021 Mark was selected for further study of the guitar with Professors Carlos Bonell and Christopher Stell at the Royal College of Music in London, and has since pursued studies in composition, now taking a Joint Principal Study of Composition and Classical Guitar.  Alongside his studies Mark enjoys a regular performing schedule in and outside London.  He is just as comfortable performing in cafés as he is in the concert hall.  Mark has appeared in numerous lunchtime concerts as well as in festivals - having recently been invited to the Amersham Festival of Music concert series in 2023, the Festival of Classical Guitar Music at the Victoria Hall in Highgate and the Royal College of Music’s ‘Super String’ festival at the Amaryllis Fleming Hall.

Tickets: £50 per head, to include tasting of 6 wines and tapas
