Welcome to The Amersham Festival of Music website. For almost forty years, the Amersham Festival of Music has been one of the top annual music events in South Bucks.
The festival has grown steadily in that time and now runs for 2 or more weeks each spring and also includes a winter season of concerts featuring our own Festival Orchestra.
Quick Links
Our aim in starting the Festival was to promote music-making of the highest professional quality in the local area, using some of the very attractive local venues available to us.
Works are performed both by our own Festival Orchestra and also by a wide variety of visiting guest performers including both professional musicians and talented amateurs.
Previous concerts have included everything from Vivaldi to Verdi and Elgar to Ellington in a wide range of musical styles including:-
-
Baroque
-
Jazz
-
Major choral works
-
Chamber concerts
-
Opera
-
Classical
The festival also includes a substantial educational element offering a bursary scheme for local aspiring young musicians. We also hold Masterclasses and Study Days with top musicians.

From Our Patron
A box of delights as the Amersham Festival celebrates its 39th year! We have the chance to enjoy jazz from the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Schubert and Mendelssohn orchestral works, a cappella singing, a concert by young people and so much more. Iain continues to serve the Festival with his flair and imagination, and delights us with the choice of music.
I would like to commend all those who work so hard to ensure the continuing survival of the Festival and in particular to thank Jane Partridge who stands down after 10 years as the Chairman of the society. Under her leadership the Festival has weathered the storm of the pandemic, given new life to the Festival programmes and given us all immense pleasure through the varied concerts. A special thank you to Jane.
Our generous sponsors have supported us through this difficult time, and you our audiences have started to return following the lockdowns and are our life blood.
Thank you to you all. I hope that you enjoy the Festival.
