After 40 years as Founder and Artistic Director of Amersham Festival of Music, Iain Ledingham is stepping down from his role and passing the baton to Chris Hopkins.  Iain will be interviewed by James Luckhurst who was involved in the Festival’s early years as an enthusiastic singer and served on a festival sub-committee (he even remembers lugging extra chairs into St Mary’s Church for those very first concerts).

Back in 1998 James interviewed Iain in a similar “Desert Island Discs” evening.  However, Iain’s choices have changed a good deal since then, especially after many very rewarding musical experiences in our Festival.  James is a former BBC World Service journalist and announcer and is now a freelance writer, producer and editor based near Hay-on-Wye.

The evening will conclude with a short interview with our incoming Artistic Director Chris Hopkins (who studied under Iain at The Royal Academy) where we will get a glimpse of his career to date and his musical influences and enthusiasms.
