This concert is an Organ Spectacular with trumpet and soprano, performed by Iain Ledingham (organ), Imogen Whitehead (trumpet) and Aimée Fisk (soprano). Many of you may have attended a similar event in previous Festivals and you will know that the programme will be full of popular and well known works. On this occasion these include the famous Toccatas by Widor, Dubois and Boellmann, two movements from Haydn’s sparkling Trumpet Concerto, operatic Arias from Rigoletto, La Boheme and a splendid showpiece from Mozart’s early opera Mitridate. Aimée and Imogen will join with Iain to perform Handel’s magnificent “Let the bright seraphim” from Samson and Geoffrey Burgon’s Nunc Dimittis (famous as the theme music for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy).
