PLEASE NOTE: Important concert information regarding Covid-19
At the time of writing (16th December), we are still hoping that the concert on 7th January can proceed. However, the health of our community - audience, musicians and helpers - is paramount.  We will keep the situation under review. If we have to cancel the concert, we will provide as much notice as possible and refunds will be available to those who have bought tickets.

We have decided that if (as we hope) the concert proceeds, we must take steps to reduce the risk of transmission.  Some of these steps represent changes from the previously-announced arrangements.

  • we request that people attending take a lateral flow test at home on the day of the concert;

  • we request that masks be worn during the concert;

  • performers will wear masks except when performing or unless exempt;

  • helpers will wear masks;

  • the programme will run for about 1 hour 20 minutes without an interval;

  • the venue will be ventilated, which may mean that it will be colder than usual;

  • we will limit the number of tickets available so that we can achieve social distancing between audience members;

  • with regret, we have cancelled the post-concert reception for Friends of the Festival.

Seating arrangements and ticket availability

  • the seating arrangements will be broadly similar to those for the two previous Autumn concerts, so as to achieve social distancing;

  • if you have already bought tickets: we will reallocate seats based on the choice that you made at the time of booking;  we will do our very best to provide you with the experience you were expecting but we are sure you will understand that the increased distancing inevitably means that not everyone will have perfect sight lines.

  • if you have not yet bought tickets:  please be aware that we are already close to the much-reduced capacity for this popular concert; we expect to be closing for further sales within the next few days, so if you would still like to come, now is the time to book.

Italian Concertos for the New Year is one of the most popular annual events in our calendar. We very much regret having had to introduce these measures and that the continuing uncertainties mean that there remains a risk of cancellation, but we hope we will be able to meet on 7th January for an evening of wonderful music.

* Students and under 16’s free – offer excludes £15 and £20 tickets. Free student tickets must be pre-booked online. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.
