Nia Coleman (Soprano)

Iain Ledingham (Conductor/Pianist)

This programme is a veritable feast of great masterpieces by Mozart. The Piano Concerto No 25 in C major is generally considered to be the grandest and most majestic of all his concertos. The orchestration is sumptuous, with much soloistic writing for the woodwind instruments in collaboration with the solo pianist. This concerto is a perfect match for his final symphonic work, the “Jupiter Symphony” which will end the programme.

We welcome back the very gifted soprano Nia Coleman to sing the wonderful aria “Et incarnatus est” from Mozart’s Mass in C minor along with one of his most spectacular concert arias “Vorrei spiegarvi o Dio” a work composed for insertion in an opera by Pasquale Anfossi and requiring exceptional virtuosity from the singer. Nia and Iain will also perform two of Mozart’s loveliest songs for voice and piano.

This splendid programme will resound to fine effect in the lovely acoustic of St James’ Church, Gerrards Cross.
