JORDAN JUNIOR STRINGS
A concert by this outstandingly successful young string ensemble under their Director, Elaine
Bonner. There will be about thirty performers ranging in age from 5 to 13 and the programme will
include music by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi as well as some wonderful folksong arrangements.
Jordan Junior Strings entered the Music for Youth Competition and were selected to play at
the Birmingham Symphony Hall Complex in July 2009. The work of this remarkable group
has encouraged a great number of young string players, and in recent years they have toured
in Italy, Spain, Austria and Hungary as well as appearing at the South Bank and at St John’s
Smith Square. They have also played for royalty, ambassadors and members of the government
including entertaining former Prime Minister Tony Blair and his family at Christmas seven
times in the last ten years.
