AMERSHAM FESTIVAL CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
Iain Ledingham (conductor)
South Bucks Choral Society performs Fauré’s haunting setting of the Requiem in the resonant
and atmospheric setting of the Chapel at the Royal Masonic School for Girls along with
Fauré’s early masterpiece “Cantique de Jean Racine”, a piece greatly loved by choral singers.
The Festival Chamber Orchestra will also perform Brahms’ wonderful Serenade in A major – a
rare opportunity to hear this delightful, substantial and very melodious work for a chamber
orchestra of woodwind, violas, cellos and basses, featuring glorious solo parts for the woodwind
players and warm, mellow writing for the lower string instruments.
