BEETHOVEN’S CHORAL SYMPHONY

An introductory lecture by Iain Ledingham (conductor)

Iain Ledingham, conductor of our performance of the Ninth Symphony on Saturday 17th April, will present an introduction to this extraordinary masterpiece.

The lecture will outline the background to the symphony’s composition as well as guiding us through the music with particular emphasis on Beethoven’s glorious setting of Schiller’s “Ode to Joy”.
