Iain Ledingham (conductor)
with Singers from the Royal Academy of Music
Before our performance of Handel’s amazing mythological opera on April 18th, Iain Ledingham offers an introduction to the extraordinary music-drama Semele, one of Handel’s greatest and most imaginative works.
Musical illustrations performed by young singers from the Royal Academy of Music will assist in showing Handel’s genius in depicting a wide range of passionate emotions and his marvellous ability to “hold the mirror up to nature”.
