AMERSHAM FESTIVAL CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
Iain Ledingham (conductor)
We begin the season with a splendid classical programme, contrasting Mozart’s best–loved Horn Concerto with the melodious intimate Cello Concerto in C major by Haydn. Horn player Richard Wainwright and cellist Anne–Isabel Meyer are well known to Festival audiences – Richard gave a memorable account of Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings in our 2007 Festival while Anne-Isabel has played many Vivaldi Concertos as well as chamber works in our concerts in recent years. The concert ends with Mozart’s 40th Symphony in G minor – one of his greatest and darkest works and a masterpiece to which one can return many times and always find new delights and new insights.
Tickets: £16, £13, £8
